After over two years of post-Brexit tensions, the UK is set to rejoin the EU’s $100bn research programme, Horizon Europe. The move was welcomed by British scientists, who will be able to apply for grants and lead research projects next year. The UK will contribute approximately €2.6bn ($2.8bn) annually to retain its Horizon membership until 2027, after reaching an agreement that was negotiated over several months.
