FortiGuard Labs has identified two new Python packages, Zebo-0.1.0 and Cometlogger-0.1, with sophisticated malware capabilities. They pose a risk for login theft, data extraction, and unauthorized system access. Zebo-0.1.0 exhibits advanced malware behaviour like keylogging, while Cometlogger-0.1 targets system credentials and user data and can bypass security measures. To prevent infection, the researchers recommend verifying third-party scripts and implementing firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
