Trump's former surgeon general calls for maintaining qualifications current nominee doesn't have

Former US Surgeon General under President Trump, Jerome Adams, raised concerns that not maintaining prerequisites for the role, such as being a licensed physician, would undermine the “mission and credibility” of the federal public health service. He referred to Trump’s current nominee, Casey Means, who graduated from medical school but did not complete her residency. Adams warned that without the required training and licensure, the trust and authority of the Surgeon General’s position could be compromised.
