Trump Is Ceding Ground to Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis (TB) has regained its status as the world’s deadliest disease from COVID-19, and the Trump administration’s cuts to foreign aid programmes are contributing to this resurgence. The availability of Tuberculosis-treating antibiotics has decreased, especially in impoverished parts of the world, resulting in around 100 million deaths since their invention in the 1950s. Many countries lost support for basic health needs after U.S international aid funding was cut. This is also increasing the likelihood of TB becoming drug-resistant.
