Trojan Malware Hidden in Cracked macOS Software, Kaspersky Says

Unauthorized websites offering cracked applications host a Trojan-Proxy malware that targets macOS users looking for cheap software. The malware allows bad actors to execute various malicious activities, such as system hacking and phishing campaigns. Kaspersky’s threat intelligence researcher, Sergey Puzan, noted that the malware is often disguised as a normal file to deceive detection systems. Other operating system versions have also been discovered. Users are advised against downloading software from unauthorised sources.
