Trojan Banker Attacks On Smartphones Surge 196% In 2024

Kaspersky reported a 196% rise in Trojan banker attacks on smartphones in 2024, reaching 1.24 million cases. Cybercriminals are shifting towards mass malware distribution, primarily via links and attachments in SMS and messaging apps. Kaspersky blocked 33.3 million attacks last year, with AdWare being the most common mobile threat. Anton Kivva, a Kaspersky security expert, emphasised the importance of cyber literacy to protect against scams.
