TrickMo malware steals Android PINs using fake lock screen

Forty new versions of the TrickMo Android banking trojan, designed to steal Android PINs, have been identified. This malware uses a fake unlock screen to capture the user’s unlock pattern or PIN, enabling attackers to unlock the device and commit fraud. Zimperium reported at least 13,000 victims, mostly in Canada, UAE, Turkey and Germany. TrickMo is spreading through phishing, and Google’s Play Protect can block known variants.
