Two hospital system groups, Harris Health System and HCA Healthcare, have reported cybersecurity breaches where confidential patient information (including addresses, dates of birth, and ID numbers) was leaked. Both have reacted by stepping up their security procedures, notifying affected patients and offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection services. They are advising individuals who don’t receive notice but believe they may be affected to make inquiries via dedicated call centers.
