This New Fake Update Malware Shows Macs Aren’t Impervious to Attack

Apple’s macOS, while typically secure, is vulnerable to a new malware strain called FrigidStealer, discovered by cybersecurity firm Proofpoint. Masquerading as a browser update, the malware persuades users to download a file which bypasses the macOS Gatekeeper security feature and steals personal information. Users are advised to remain vigilant about downloading files from the internet and to consider using antivirus software.
