The Insider Threat: Can Employees Pose a Greater Risk than Hackers

Insider threats, either malicious or unintentional, pose a substantial risk to organizations, potentially more so than external hackers. Educating employees about security practices, controlling access, analyzing employee behavior, and a robust incident response plan that includes investigation, containment, and mitigation are vital in preventing such breaches. The in-depth knowledge insiders possess makes them harder to detect and mitigate, requiring organizations to be ever vigilant.
