At the ViVe 2025 health panel, experts discussed the increasing influence of wearable technology in healthcare. While these devices offer vast real-time data, integrating that information into clinical care is challenging. Mass General Brigham and Houston Methodist are exploring ways to incorporate wearables into care delivery. Although useful, consumer-grade devices present reliability issues and AI is needed to convert the massive data into actionable insights. Overcoming patient and clinician behavior change is considered a key hurdle in the successful implementation of wearable technology.
