In 2024, significant data breaches occurred across multiple sectors. Telecom giant AT&T had two data breaches, exposing 110+ million customer records. Healthcare company Change Healthcare was also hacked, compromising an unspecified “substantial proportion” of health data of US people. In the UK, Synnovis pathology lab experienced widespread service disruption due to a cyberattack. Over 500 million records were stolen from Ticketmaster via cloud data platform Snowflake. Other major breaches occurred at MediSecure, Kaiser, USPS, Evolve Bank, and National Public Data.
