Research by cybersecurity firm Tenable has identified various ‘cyber hygiene’ issues within Australia’s largest organisations, including outdated software and weak encryption. It found the average company has nearly 12,000 internet-facing assets, many of which are susceptible to exploitation. Tenable warned these findings show the scale of the cybersecurity challenge organisations face in protecting sensitive data. Australia reportedly experienced 76,000 cyberattacks last year, equivalent to one every seven minutes.
