Securonix has warned of tax-themed phishing emails attempting to deliver malware through Microsoft Management Console (MSC) files, with users targeted in Pakistan. The study found malicious code could be executed through the .msc file, exploiting the MMC files’ flexibility. The company advises users to avoid downloading files or attachments from unverified sources.
