Surgical Practice Notifying 437,400 Patients of Data Theft

Proliance Surgeons, a surgical group based in Seattle, has alerted almost 437,400 individuals that their data may have been compromised in a data theft and ransomware incident earlier in 2023. The patient data potentially accessed includes names, social security numbers, health insurance information, and medical treatment details. The healthcare provider is now facing a class-action lawsuit accusing it of failing to secure personal health data as per state, internal, and federal laws.
