Surge in deceptive simplicity exploitation by cyberattackers

Check Point’s latest Global Threat Index indicates a rise in cyberattacks using seemingly simple methods to bypass traditional defences. This includes AsyncRAT campaigns which use malicious HTML files to covertly spread malware and the resurgence of the FakeUpdates malware. It underscores the need for layered security. Formbook was the most common malware family, with a 3% global impact, while command injection over HTTP was the most exploited vulnerability, impacting 45% of organizations globally.
