Study Finds Nearly Half Suffered a Third-Party Data Breach

Digital identity company Imprivata has found that nearly half (47%) of firms have suffered a data breach involving a third-party in the last year. The joint research with the Ponemon Institute also revealed that 64% of respondents expect such breaches to either increase or maintain current high levels in the next two years. The findings also showed a rise in awareness of the security implications of third-party access. Just under half (48%) agreed this is becoming the commonest attack surface.
