Startup necromancy: Dead Google Apps domains can be compromised by new owners

Many businesses are not properly closing their Google accounts when they fail or are sold, posing significant risks, as the accounts often still give access to sensitive information, says Dylan Ayrey of Truffle Security. These dormant accounts provide access to employee accounts tied to domains bought by new owners. Ayrey recommends closing these accounts before selling domains to prevent data exposure and security breaches. Google also advises users to completely close accounts and not just cancel them.
