Stanford University’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital is notifying nearly 13,000 patients of a data breach after a hospital laptop containing medical information was stolen. This is the fifth major breach for the university. The hospital is offering affected families a year of identity theft protection. The stolen laptop was old and non-functioning, and the employee had already started using a newer and encrypted laptop.
