St. Luke’s Health reports data breach

A hack into a third-party vendor’s email exposed patient and clinical data, causing care delays and disruptions in a Texas-based health system. Initially, it was believed that the data breach did not affect St. Luke’s Health, but further investigation revealed that patient information had been compromised. The health system has taken some systems offline to prevent further exposure and is notifying affected patients, offering identity monitoring. There have been a significant number of cyberattacks targeting healthcare organizations this year.
