‘SpyLend’ Android malware tricked 100,000 users into downloading it

A new Android malware called SpyLend, part of a group of malicious apps called “SpyLoan”, has infected at least 100,000 devices, according to a security report by CYFIRMA. Masquerading as a financial tool on Google’s Play Store, the app collects user data for potential extortion or blackmail. The app eluded detection on Google Play by redirecting users to an external site to download it. Although it has been removed, it could still run in the background on infected devices.
