Internet of Things (IoT) devices in hospitals are vulnerable to malware attacks, including distributed denial of service attacks. Healthcare IT teams need to be prepared for cybercriminals targeting large numbers of IoT devices in hospitals to access online traffic and device data, according to Michael Simon, CEO of cybersecurity firm Cryptonite. He added that cyberattackers target the healthcare sector to steal valuable patient medical records for identity theft and financial fraud.
