Sony and Comcast suffer data breaches from hackers

A vulnerability in Citrix software has led to a data breach at Comcast, impacting up to 36m customers. The firm detected suspicious activity on 25 October, leading to a discovery of unauthorised access to its systems. Elsewhere, a ransomware group has leaked more than one million files from Sony’s Insomniac Games division, potentially impacting the firm’s “operational integrity and industry standing”. Customers are being urged to change their passwords.
