Cyber criminals have changed their attack tactics, moving from ransomware to quieter, less detectable methods such as crypto-jacking, IOT malware, and encrypted threats. Crypto-jacking attacks surged by 399% in the first half of 2023, reaching over 332 million attacks. Meanwhile, ransomware attacks decreased by 41% to 140 million, but could potentially rebound. Despite a rise in overall intrusion attempts, high severity intrusions decreased by 7% globally.
