SolarWinds CISO Sued for Fraud by US SEC

The US SEC is suing SolarWinds and its CISO, Timothy Brown, for allegedly misleading investors by concealing cybersecurity weaknesses during a major hack. Brown is accused of violating US securities laws. While SolarWinds and Brown insist they are innocent and the company pledges to fight these charges, the SEC argues that specific deficiencies in cybersecurity were known and ignored, resulting in an inaccurate portrayal of the company’s cybersecurity measures.
