A law preventing mixed-sex patient wards in the NHS was violated 537 times by the Royal Free London in the 12 months to November 2021. There was a national trend in breaches, with figures rising from 19,700 in the year to November 2019 to 49,100 last year. The breaches have been criticised by the Patients Association.
