Silver Fox APT Targets Taiwan with Complex Gh0stCringe and HoldingHands RAT Malware

Cybersecurity researchers at Fortinet FortiGuard Labs have identified a phishing campaign in Taiwan, orchestrated by threat actor Silver Fox APT, whereby malware-infected PDFs or ZIP files are sent via email. The hackers use messages from the government or businesses, involving taxes, invoices, and pensions, as lures. The malware involved includes HoldingHands RAT and Gh0stCringe, known variants of Gh0st RAT used widely by Chinese hackers, in an evolution of the initial Winos 4.0 phishing campaign.
