Shocking study finds NHS staff ‘vulnerable’ to rape and assault from colleagues

A study by the British Journal of Surgery has revealed that almost 29.9% of NHS female surgeons in the UK have been sexually assaulted in the past five years. Around 63% of women and 23% of men in the UK’s surgical field have been sexually harassed at work. The data shows the severity of the issue, with reported assaults ranging from inappropriate touching to rape, sometimes linked to career advancement.
