Shared digital gateway was source of three NHS ransomware attacks

A shared service between Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was the source of an INC Ransom cyber attack, impacting patient data at both hospitals and Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The breach came via a digital gateway service and officials are investigating which data was stolen. The ransomware group could publish the data before the investigation concludes, but frontline services remain unaffected.
