Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is recovering from a substantial data breach that saw confidential information shared on social media. The breach followed a major cyber attack on Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alder Hey, one of Europe’s major pediatric hospitals, is working with the National Crime Agency to ascertain the impact and instigate necessary mitigations. Both Trusts have been forced to revert to paper-based resources, causing service disruptions. Investigations are underway.
