The Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the International Medical University, Dr Muralitharan Ganesalingam, has underscored the importance of regular health screenings to detect potential health changes early. He suggests that these should begin in early adulthood and continue twice annually after the age of 45. He specifically emphasised the significance of screening for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Additionally, he encouraged screenings for women’s health issues, including cervical and breast cancer and osteoporosis.
