Organisations including schools, colleges and the NHS may be fined if they misuse blind carbon copy (BCC) in emails, warns the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Misuse of BCC has led to many data breaches, with schools and universities being the worst offenders, followed by health services and local government. The regulator recommended using alternatives like professional bulk email software or mail merge tools.
