Hackers have gained access to an internal system of Schneider Electric, a French multinational known for its energy and industrial automation products. The activity followed allegations of a data breach on the dark web. The HellCat ransomware group, which emerged late last year, claimed the breach and threatened to release stolen data, believed to be highly sensitive, unless Schneider Electric paid a ransom of $125,000 in XMR.
