Online scams exploiting the public’s interest in food have been identified in Singapore. The scam involves downloading apps that appear to be from reputable grocery stores. These apps contain malware that allows the perpetrator to steal personal data and execute unauthorized transactions. The Singapore Police Force and the National Crime Council are advising the public to regularly update security patches and avoid granting unknown applications access to sensitive data.
