Saskatchewan medical lab hacked, over 7,000 patients affected

Hackers stole the intimate medical details of over 7,000 patients from Innomar in Saskatchewan. Data including names, addresses, medical history, prescription information, and health insurance subscriber numbers were taken. Innomar, which runs four medical clinics in the province, learned of the breach in February 2024, reported it in May and has offered two years of credit monitoring to those affected, although the province’s privacy commissioner suggests it should be a minimum of 10 years.
