Spanish bank Santander has undergone a security breach via a third-party supplier, which led to unauthorised access to customer and former employee data. Despite the breach, no transaction details or credentials were included, the bank’s operations were not impacted and anti-fraud measures have been increased. Customers in Chile, Spain and Uruguay were impacted. Firms must assess and regularly review third-party risks and manage data, according to Quod Orbis CEO Martin Greenfield.
