SamSam ransomware hackers bank $6 million and counting from victims

The hackers behind the SamSam ransomware have earned over $6 million since 2015, with healthcare organizations being the main victims. A recent report found that one in four victims paid at least part of the ransom, and the demands have been increasing since January. The majority of victims were in the US, with 26% in the healthcare industry. It is recommended that organizations strengthen their cybersecurity measures to prevent further attacks.
