Safeguarding digital frontiers is a collective responsibility

South Africa ranks fifth globally for cybercrime with many incidents unreported due to fear of reputational damage or lack of faith in law enforcement. Common cybercrimes include phishing, ransomware, and identity theft. Cybercrime is now considered a norm rather than an exception, costing the economy R2.2 billion annually. As more activities go digital, the risk of falling prey to cybercriminals increases significantly, raising the importance of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
