Vladimir Dunaev, a 40-year-old resident of Amur Blast, has pleaded guilty to creating and distributing Trickbot malware, which targeted US hospitals, schools, and companies, stealing tens of millions of dollars. The malware, used in cyberattacks and ransomware schemes, was taken down in 2022. Dunaev was extradited from Korea in 2021 and will be sentenced in March 2024, facing a maximum of 35 years in prison.
