Russian state hackers abuse Cloudflare services to spy on Ukrainian targets

A Russian state-backed hacking group, Gamaredon, has been using Cloudflare Tunnels to hide its real location while conducting cyber espionage against Ukrainian-speaking targets. The group, believed to be controlled by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), infects systems with its custom GammaDrop malware. GammaDrop is obfuscated with junk code and random variables, making it hard to detect and analyse. The Gamaredon group has reportedly been active since 2013.
