Several NHS Trusts, including Alder Hey Children’s and Liverpool Heart and Chest, have been hit by ransomware attacks leading to significant service disruption. Russian group INC Ransom have taken responsibility for two of the attacks and are leaking sensitive patient data. The attacks, under investigation by the National Crime Agency and NHS Digital, have resulted in routine procedures being delayed and an increase in manual record-keeping.
