Russian Hacker Dmitry Khoroshev Unmasked as LockBit Ransomware Administrator

The developer of the LockBit ransomware operation has been unmasked as Dmitry Yuryevich Khoroshev, a 31-year-old Russian national. Authorities have over 2,500 decryption keys and are contacting LockBit victims. Khoroshev faces charges with a maximum penalty of 185 years in prison. Previously, he was targeted with asset freezes and travel bans. The law enforcement operation known as Cronos has disrupted LockBit which had over 2,500 victims worldwide and received over $500 million in ransoms.
