A new Android malware has been discovered in modified versions of the Alpine Quest mapping app, allegedly used by Russian soldiers. The compromised app aims to steal sensitive data linked to military operations. Researchers at Russian mobile antivirus company, Doctor Web, identified the malware which prompts a user’s phone number, contacts, geolocation, file info, app version and locLog files to be sent to attackers.
