A Russian cyber attack on the NHS, run by hacking group Qilin, is worse than previously thought and was responsible for stealing personal medical data from hundreds of clinics throughout the UK. The theft of data led to thousands of cancelled operations at seven London hospitals, with Qilin shutting down systems and demanding a £40m ransom. The National Crime Agency is considering retaliation and an emergency helpline for patients has been established.
