Small and rural hospitals, in particular, are advised to leverage federal resources to improve their cyber defenses. Following the Change Healthcare breach, the Obama administration and Congress are initiating stronger cybersecurity requirements for health providers, with two bills currently pending. Despite this, many eligible hospitals are yet to take advantage of provided resources, and new legislation to increase cyber defense requirements is anticipated in future.
