Scientists have found a shared gene module between depression and cardiovascular disease (CVD), aiding understanding of why individuals with one condition often suffer from the other. The research could lead to development of drugs to target both diseases. The shared genes are also involved in brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s disease.
