Researchers find no evidence of monkeypox infection in pets, despite presence of viral DNA

A study found Mpox virus DNA on dogs and cats in infected households but determined it was likely caused by human contamination rather than pets having the infection. The study, examining the susceptibility of pets to the Mpox virus, concluded there were no confirmed cases of the virus in pets, suggesting potential contamination from infected humans. The Centers for Disease Control recommends limiting pet interaction during an Mpox infection to prevent potential virus spread.
