Republicans open to RFK Jr. at HHS despite abortion-rights stance

Senate Republicans have indicated potential backing for Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, despite his pro-abortion stance. Leading anti-abortion figures have expressed concerns, however, many Senate Republicans maintain trust in President-elect Trump’s picks. Notably, Kennedy’s views regarding vaccines and the proposed removal of fluoride from drinking water are also contentious. Kennedy argued he would prioritize the President’s policies over his own views. Some anti-abortion figures continue to oppose his nomination.
