Republicans Once Wanted Government out of Health Care. Trump Voters See It Differently.

Many Trump voters, traditionally resistant to government intervention, are advocating for stronger regulation to rein in spiraling healthcare costs, according to polls. Increasing numbers support federal limitations on drug companies, hospitals, and caps on medical bills, and oppose cuts to Medicaid. High healthcare costs and medical debt lead many Americans to feel the system doesn’t work and they want someone to take action, often resulting in a shift in attitude towards government regulation.
