Report: How Medicaid/SNAP Cuts Could Affect the Economy

A new report from the Commonwealth Fund and the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health has warned that potential cuts to the Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could cause serious economic challenges across the US. Researchers have predicted that these cuts could cause a loss of one million jobs, a reduction of $113bn in states’ gross domestic products and $8.8bn in lost state and local tax revenue by 2026.
